【Bochuan College】

Bochuan College is named after Dr QU Bochuan, who is the founder of the Dalian University of Technology, the advocator of “the 211 Project”, and a renowned educator. The motto of Bochuan College is "All rivers run into the sea; making self-improvement efforts to improve yourself; sound in morality, diligent in learning, theory with practice”. “Having noble moral character and rigorous diligent in study; and achieving the integration between knowledge and action" are the sprites of Bochuan College. The College strives to foster the students the abilities to read widely, understand the worldly principle and wisdom, be broad-minded, and integrate theory with practice to make "the unity of knowledge and action" come true.

【Lingxi College 】

Lingxi College founded in September, 2013 was incorporated as one of the two foundation colleges of Dalian University of Technology, Panjin Campus. Named after Qian Lingxi who is the senior academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the pioneer of Chinese computational mechanics, Lingxi College adheres to the DUT policy of high-beginning, international, new-style, cooperative modes on cultivation of students’ integrated abilities

Advantaged with modern type of instructions and a full of living facilities, Lingxi College strives to build a comfortable, supportive living environment and promote an ideal academic atmosphere. Our education team consists of professional growth tutors, academic tutors and moral tutors. We are concerned with students’ individual differences and their difficulties in all aspects. Besides, we are creating a platform on which students are encouraged to achieve self-education, self-management, self-service and self-expression.

As a spiritual leader of our college, Qian Lingxi, whose thoughts and characters are one of the culture sources of our university, is an iconic figure in development history of DUT. Mr. Qian’s achievements in theoretical innovation and engineering technology contribute greatly to China’s socialist modernization drive, such as successes of WuhanYangtze River Bridge, Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, the first China nuclear submarine and so on. Mixing general education and specialized education, our college focuses on fostering young student of constantly fighting conventional wisdom. Following Mr. Qian’s innovative scientific spirit, we set “Technological Innovation, Academic Freedom” as the motto of Lingxi College.

Mr. Qian loves his motherland heartily as well as the education cause of his country. When foreign invaders came in the early years, the entire country was at a time of crisis. However, Mr. Qian, who had a bright future in his academies in Belgium, resolutely decided to go home in that hour of need. As his belief in “Science saves and serves the country”, he dedicated himself into the cause of education and scientific research of his motherland. In the year 1978, during the National Science Conference of China, Mr. Qian, over sixty already, was moved and excited. He wrote down these letters, “I am willing to sacrifice for the cause just like a spring silkworm sacrifices for making silks, how can we waiting for to move until we are already grey headed, let us look ahead to the day China rises, it would be better if elites fill up the world”. This poem illustrates Mr. Qian’s persistence of selfless devotion, and indicates his expectation to those later generations and his encouragement for successors to overcome their own wishes. Therefore, “Patriotism and Dedication” and “Combination of Knowledge and Action” which precisely became the essential element of Lingxi College’s spirit lead the college to develop students having a great love to their motherland and having characters in the way of dedication.

Lingxi College will always firmly uphold under the spirit of “Technological Innovation”, “Academic Freedom”, “Patriotism and Dedication” and “Combination of Knowledge and Action”, paying attention to personality cultivation and the concept of integrated development of education. Let us believe that Mr. Qian’s demeanour and morals will stimulate the teachers and students from Lingxi College to work industriously, study hardly and bestow life on scientific research. 【 Changchun College】

Changchun College was established in July 2014, following Bochuan College and Lingxi College, which is the third college of Panjin Campus. It is named after the first Chinese olympian - Liu Changchun, who was a meritorious professor of DUT. Under Prof. Liu’s appeal, "honest, friendly, and integrity; diligent, thoughtful and agile " has become the spirits of the college. It emphasizes that strong physique is the basis of a sound personality and education is the cornerstone of students' intellectual core competencies. The college aims to cultivate students with the sportsmanship includig loyalty, courage, friendship, trust and cooperation, as well as fair competition, defending honor, self-reliance and courageously fighting. Moreover, the college leads student to turning the sportsmanship into accuracy on the professional skill learning, erudite wisdom on humanities cultivation, and progression on practice training so as to ultimately achieve the overall physical, intellectual and moral development. The college is committed to establishing a platform for students to development with goals, enjoy learning and pursue their dreams freely and effectively.
