Division of Student Affairs is a functional department which carries out all the requirements from the university and higher authorities, makes the policies and schemes related to the undergraduate education, and organizes the pedagogical activities for students. The division is in charge of the Communist Youth League and the Counseling & Research Center for the College Students Development. There are two offices under this division--the General Office and the Educational Management Office. It covers the following main responsibilities:
I: Carrying out the decisions made by the campus management committee, being responsible for formulating students’ rules and regulations, and guiding students’ ideology and psychology etc.
II: Under the guidance of the superior party authorities, being in charge of the party affairs, including the party construction, party members’ development, education and management.
III: Being in charge of the construction of the faculty who implement the undergraduates’ ideology and politics education in the campus.
IV: Being responsible for the undergraduates’ psychological education and mental consultation. It includes the teaching and scientific research, psychological counseling, psychological screening, crisis intervention, group counseling etc.
V. Being in charge of the scholarship and the financial aid. It includes the judgment and allocation, the work-study activities, medical insurance etc.
VI. With responsibility for students’ day-to-day management and service work. It includes students’ behavior management, ideological education, internet monitoring and guidance, military and national defense training, the freshmen enrollment and the graduates leaving, etc.
VII. Playing the role of holding cultural activities, guiding students’ associations and social practice activities, and organizing the second class education in order to create the favorable cultural atmosphere and maintain the campus’ security and stability.
VIII. Completing the other work assigned by the campus and superior authorities.
