Since 12th to 26th , April, Prof. Paul Stanley Giller visited Panjin Campus for 11 days, invited by Prof. Liu Lifen, Dean of School of Food and Environment. Prof. Giller is a member of The Royal Irish Academy, Ireland's Leading body of experts in the science and humanities, Ex-Vice Principal of University College Cork. In the morning of 23th April, Prof. Guo Jinming, Assistant to president DUT, Secretory of Party Committee and Director of administrative Committee, Panjin Campus, met with Prof. Giller in E301 conference room, G01 administration building. Teacher representatives from School of Food and Environment attended meeting.
Prof. Guo expressed his sincere welcome and introduced the natural environment of Panjin city. Panjin is renowned for its broad wetland, Prof. Guo said it may offer potential research opportunities. He hoped both sides would strengthen cooperation and exchange through academic exchange in order to deepen the friendship and develop academic cooperation. Prof. Giller appreciated the welcome and agreed with Prof. Guo’s idea. He expected that two universities would cooperate broader and further in both school management and scientific research, devote more in cultivating high-level, comprehensive and international talents.
During the visit, Prof. Giller gave a lecture in the teaching building A01, room E101. The lecture named“Rivers & Streams: Life Blood”. He also gave an introduction lesson named “Scope and Sciences of Ecology” for Environmental Ecological Engineering major students of both year 2017 and 2018.
