On the evening of Dec.24, the II English Evening Party was held in the E03 hall by the School of Humanities and Law, the Communist Youth League Committee and the Division of Research Affairs jointly. Prof. Lu Zhongchang--the vice president of Dalian University of Technology and the director of Panjin campus, Prof. He Gaohong--the vice director of Panjin campus, and the representatives from each school and department attended the party.

The English party has English drama, English movie dubbing, talk show, foreign songs, dancing etc. performed by both the teachers and students, including the international students. They celebrated the Christmas eve together happily.

The theme of the party is “National and International Cultures”. The aim is to understand the western culture, carry forward the Chinese culture, know about the world, and enhance the self-confidence. In the closing speech given by Prof. He, she said that, the cross-cultural communication is a two-way process, it is a process of absorption and transmission, the foreign language learners should not only master the English language and the foreign culture quickly, but also improve the native cultural consciousness and carry forward our Chinese traditional culture.
