21th March, A delegation led by Paul Monks，Pro-vice chancellor of Leicester University (UoL) and Eric Hope, Dean of Leicester International Institute visited Panjin Campus. Professor Guo Jinming, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, the Vice Director of the Administrative Committee of Panjin Campus, met with the UoL delegation, accompanied by the staffs from Department of teaching affairs and Department of Research.

 

     

During the meeting, Prof. Guo expressed his sincere welcome to UoL delegation. Leicester International Institute (DLI) is a new-born institute, it worth more patience and care from both DUT and UoL. Also he hoped the visit would reinforce the collaboration between two sides. Afterwards, Prof. Monks firstly recognized the running achievements of DLI. He also emphasized the teaching quality is the priority. DLI teaching supervisors will make sure the quality would getting better. Prof. Monks expressed that the visits in both main campus Dalian and Panjin Campus went well and fruitful, he felt more confident and the partnership has been re-newed.

 

In the same day afternoon, Prof. Monks gave an introductory lecture in A01. The lecture theme was  “ Taking your breath away … and analysing it – breathomics”.  After the lecture, Prof. Monks answered  the questions raised by students.
