On 1st Nov., Ms. Wang Jue, the deputy director of the International Office of Dalian University of Technology was invited to give a seminar in building A01-W101, DUT Panjin Campus. The topic was “ To be the messengers of Civilization and International Affairs - About the comity of nations”. The aim was to help students to understand the norms of international communication etiquette, international rules, how to participate in international affairs appropriately, and strengthen national self-confidence and self-identity. Prof. Zhang Xiujuan from Division of Research Affairs, Panjin Campus hosted the seminar.
The seminar was focus mainly on 13 aspects which were Dress appearance etiquette, Introduction and self-introduction, Name and address, Cellphone etiquette, Email etiquette, Visit etiquette, Social communication etiquette, Lady first etiquette, Western table manners, Courtesy expression, Taking photos and videos, Etiquette Faux Pas, Protocol orders, etc. During the seminar, Ms. Wang demonstrated how to involve international affairs decently, she also emphasized the importance of being loyalty to homeland. At the end of the seminar, Ms. Wang wished all the students should get well-prepared for the upcoming overseas study plan in advance and to read more books, to meet more people, so that students would have an international perspective. In the Q&A session, Ms. Wang answered questions raised by the students.
