Recently, invited by Prof.Yue Qianjin, the Dean of School of Marine Sicence and Technology, Prof. Yutaka Hiroyuki and Professor Ichikawa from Saga University Marine Energy Research Center (IOES) visited DUT Panjin Campus. This visit was a return visit two years after signing the exchange and cooperation agreement in January 2015.

    During the visit, the two professors of IOES made two reports on the latest developments in marine research on ocean wave energy and ocean temperature difference. Afterwards, the president of the Institute of Marine Science and Technology gave a talk about the research status of marine energy direction and the latest achievements in marine engineering research field with strong research foundation.

 

    After the lecture, the two sides held a friendly talk on further exchanges and cooperation in the relevant fields. IOES has a strong research foundation and strength in marine energy conversion technology. Our institute also has mature technology and achievements in marine engineering research field. The two sides agreed that based on the principle of mature ocean thermal energy conversion process, combined with the advantages of materials, structure and hydrodynamics in our institute. We should carry out cooperation and exchange for the design and manufacture of sustainable marine energy equipment.

    During the visit, IOES professors came to Liaodong Bay New District government, met with the management committee director Ge Lijun. IOES Professor Yutaka briefly introduced the purpose of the visit and the talks between the two sides. Director Ge Lijun said that sustainable energy as a future research direction, in line with Panjin and Liaodong Bay area of geographical characteristics and industrial needs, has broad prospects for Local governments. The government strongly agrees with the cooperation between IOES and SOST to carry out international exchanges and cooperation, and hope that the joint laboratory construction work can be smoothly pushed forward. During the visit, IOES's two professors were also greeted by Vice President Prof. Zhongchang Lu.

    The Institute of Marine Science and Technology will maintain close contact with IOES to keep in touch with the joint laboratories on the positioning, purpose, cooperation and other issues of mutual concerns.
