Prof.Paul Giller, the former vice president of University College Cork, visited Panjin Campus

During May 21 to June 4, Prof.Paul Giller, the former vice president of University College Cork was invited to visit Panjin Campus of Dalian University of Technology, giving lectures on ecology lectures for students of the School of Food and Environmental, and holding academic exchanges with teachers and students.

On May 31, Prof. Lu Zhongchang, the vice president of DUT and the director of Panjin campus met with Prof.Paul Giller, Prof. He Gaohong, the vice director of Panjin campus,Prof. Lifen Liu, vice dean of School of Food and Environment, and the representatives from the school and international office are at presence.

Lu Zhongchang expressed his sincere welcome to Paul’s revisit, thanked for his teaching, and welcomed the teachers and students of UCC to teach and study at DUT Panjin campus. He mentioned that the friendly cooperation between the two schools has developed rapidly and fruitfully and he is willing to support more cooperation in more areas. Paul expressed his pleasure for teaching here and his appreciation for pushing the internationalization in universities. He mentioned that he had two wishes during this visit. Firstly, on behalf of School of Food Science, he intends to start more in-depth academic and scientific research cooperation with the School of Food and Environment of DUT; Secondly, on behalf of University College Cork, he hopes to broaden the areas of cooperation, deepen the cooperation content, and start new models of cooperation. At the meeting, the two sides focused on the feasibility of establishing the “4 + 0” cooperative model and the cooperation model of the business school.
