On April 5, Luis Canales, Director of the Office of International Studies and Programs of Illinois State University, and Yimin Wang, Deputy Director of the Office of International Studies and Programs of Illinois State University, visited the Panjin Campus of Dalian University of Technology. Vice President of DUT and the Director of Panjin Campus, Prof. Lu Zhongchang met with the guests in the VIP reception room of the G01 Administrative Service Building. Representatives from the School of Business and Division of Research Affairs attended the meeting.

    Vice President Lu welcomed the guests and had a cordial communication with the guests. Vice President Lu Zhongchang introduced the historical development of Dalian University of Technology, the basic situation, the pattern of running schools in three campuses locating in two cities, the setting of schools and majors in Panjin campus, the international cooperation and exchange, and its development plan, etc. He said that, as the key internationalization development base of DUT, Panjin Campus has attached great importance to the practice of internationalization, and vigorously encouraged teachers and students to study in the top universities overseas to broaden their international perspective. Luis expressed his gratitude to Panjin campus’ warm hospitality, and expressed his appreciation for the internationalization policy and the quality of talents cultivation. He introduced the basic situation of the Illinois State University and its internationalization development strategy, especially the advantages of Business School, expressed the hope that the two universities would establish the further cooperation and welcomed the teachers and students of Panjin campus to Illinois State University. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the feasibility of cooperation such as short-term exchange program and visiting students program, and reached a cooperation intention.

    In the afternoon, Luis Canales and Yimin Wang gave a representation about the Illinois State University and its summer camp program. Two students who attended its winter camp program in 2017 shared their stories and feelings at Illinois State University.

    During the visit, the delegation visited the Changchun College and stadiums.
