A delegation from Utah State University visited Panjin Campus

In order to promote the scientific and cultural exchanges, establish the friendship and cooperation between DUT and Utah State University (USU), in the afternoon of March 9th , a delegation from the USU visited DUT Panjin Campus. The delegates were Prof. Dwight, the Direcor of Academic Programs and Initiatives in China, and Ms. Li Jin, Regional Adviser of China. 

 

Professor Lu Zhongchang, the Vice President of DUT and the Director of the Administrative Committee of Panjin Campus, met with the USU delegation. Accompanied by the Vice-director of the Administrative Committee of Panjin Campus and the Dean of the School of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering, Prof. He Gaohong, the Deputy Secretary of Department of Research Affairs, Prof. Zhang Xiujuan, and staff from International Office. During the meeting, Prof. Lu expressed his sincere welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced the current status of Panjin Campus as well as future draft strategy. Also he hoped the visit would start the friendly exchanges and collaboration between the two universities. During the meeting, Dwight introduced the USU and the purpose of this visit. He hoped the visit could build a solid foundation for further cooperation. Afterwards, both sides discussed the details of cooperation programs and reached a preliminary result.      

 

In the morning of 10th Mar., a negotiation conference was hosted by Prof. Zhang. The attendees were delegates from USU and teachers and staff of School of Business. The conference focused mainly on “2+2”, “3 + 1 + 1” co-cultivation mode on business majors. Both sides reached agreement to start with the Summer School Program as the foundation.

 

In the same day afternoon, Prof. Dwight gave an introductory lecture in A01. The lecture theme was  The development of China, the urban-rural wages disparities”. The attendees were undergraduates of 2015 and 2016 from major of Economics, Human Resources and Business English. The lecture lasted for nearly two hours, since the students were so addicted to Prof. Dwights humor and professionalization. After the lecture, Prof. Dwight answered the questions raised by students. Lastly, he warmly welcomed students of Panjin Campus to Utah State University for further study.
