Professor Christopher Hardacre from the University of Manchester gave a lecture in Panjin Campus

In the evening of Nov. 29th , Christopher Hardacre, the Dean of School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science at the University of Manchester, gave a lecture in Room A01-W210. Prof. Hardacre obtained his PhD in Cambridge University. After that, he successively worked at Cambridge University, Queen’s University of Belfast, and presently he works at the University of Manchester.  Prof. Hardacre was successively awarded an USAF, Window on Science visiting research fellowship, the Royal Society of Chemistry Encouraging Innovation Award with Merck Chemicals Ltd., he was also the inaugural winner of the IChemE’s Andrew Medal for catalysis. 

 

The lecture theme is "Research and Education in Manchester University - the birth place of Chemical Engineering". The attendees were undergraduates of 2015 and 2016 from School of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering. The Vice-director of the Administrative Committee of Panjin Campus and the Dean of the School of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering, Prof. Gaohong He had attended and hosted this event.

 

During the lecture, Prof. Hardacre provided basic information of School of Chemical Engineering and Analytic Science in the University of Manchester. He also introduced the courses and research areas base on some case studies. In addition, he presented the cooperation programs which are working and are being worked on between the two universities. After the lecture, Prof. Hardacre answered the questions raised by students. Lastly, he warmly welcomed students of Panjin Campus to the School of Chemistry, University of Manchester for further study.
