In order to further promote the establishment of Dalian University of Technology-Leicester International Institute, achieve the superior matching of the disciplines and curriculums between the two universities, the delegation of Panjin campus paid a visit to University of Leicester from June 13 to June 17. The two sides held detailed discussions about the discipline development, teaching plan, staff arrangement etc. and basically reached a consensus. The visit achieved fruitful results.
At the start, the vice-chancellor of UoL, Prof.Martin Barstow and the representatives of College of Science and Technology warmly received our delegation. During the talks, Prof. Martin expressed that said UoL attached great importance to the cooperation with DUT, and he hoped that the two sides would friendly push the cooperation together and make substantive progress in the teachers’ scientific research cooperation. In the next few days, the two sides deeply discussed about the modules,curriculums,credits,teaching plans and teachers arrangements etc. After repeated revision and discussion, the two sides ultimately come to an agreement.
During the visit, the delegation visited the School of Engineering, School of Chemistry and School of Mathematics, including their teaching equipments, laboratory, infrastructure etc. Moreover, teachers of Panjin campus held academic communication and exchange with the teachers of UoL.
Prof.Yu Bo, Prof. Bao Ming and Prof. Zhang Fengxiang gave lectures to the teachers and students of UoL, The spot was abuzz with discussion.
